This display honours the work of three remarkable Indigenous women. In association with NAIDOC Week, Aunty Fay Carter, Alma Thorpe and Paola Balla are celebrated through a video interview and personal artefacts that reflect aspects of their life and work.

Her Place Women’s Museum Australia celebrates the social, civic and entrepreneurial achievements of all Australian women and their role in shaping our nation. Her Place aspires to create Australia’s first dedicated national women’s museum and archive. It will be a centre for exhibitions, educational resources and public programs, and a hub of activities where the distinctive achievements and contributions of women can be acknowledged and written into history.
