MODEL United Nations CONFERENCE: Celebrating the International Day of the Girl 2018

In collaboration with the Immigration Museum, Her Place is delighted to be hosting this event for Year 9 to 12 students on the very important topic of Achieving gender equality: Empowering women and girls.
A Model UN Conference is a creative simulation of the United Nations General Assembly in which students represent Member States of the UN. In teams of 3 or 4, students will negotiate a new UN Resolution on Gender Equality. The Model UN Conference is an opportunity for students to learn about international relations, the UN system and global issues in a fun, dynamic environment, while developing negotiation and public speaking skills.
The Model UN Conference is managed by the United Nations Association of Australia (Victorian Division) in partnership with Her Place.
